Refinishing Electric Vehicles Apr 20, 2022
As electric vehicles (EVs) become more common on the road – they’ll also become more common in the paint shop. The usual temperatures used during the painting and drying process pose a little bit of a challenge. Due to their electrical components, your standard EV will require a lower temperature than normal to keep its operations running smoothly. In fact, the vehicle manufacturers themselves specifically state that the temperature limits must be observed during the painting and drying process of the car. If temperatures exceed around 60 degrees celsius, you’ll find the EV now has a battery with lowered storage capacity and hindered overall functioning. Hardly ideal.
At Collision Connect, we like to make sure we stay ahead of the curve. That means using the latest technology in our shops and ensuring that our technicians attend the most up-to-date and relevant training courses. We now carry a special clear that will dry in 25 degree celsius heat – perfect for those temperamental EVs and all our technicians have attended hybrid and EV courses. As electrical vehicles become more and more popular, we’re proud that we can offer you an exceptional service, keeping your car in optimal condition.
